ABOUT ME

My backround

I am a bilingual Licensed Psychologist(Greece) and a Chartered Counselling Psychologist (UK), currently providing counselling and psychotherapy in Αthens, Greece. My cultural identity is shaped by Greek, French, and American influences. This multicultural background has given me a deep appreciation for the complexities of identity, language, and emotional life. I am fluent in both Greek and English, and I create a space where you can express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you.

Experience

I have over 20 years of clinical experience (includes training and employment) in Greece and the UK.I have worked across a variety of settings—NHS services, charities, academic institutions, and private clinics—offering psychotherapy to individuals and couples. I currently provide some individual and couple psychotherapy as an external associate at the Institute for Relational and Group Psychotherapy (ΙΣΟΨ) in Athens, while also maintaining my private practice in Athens.

An Evolving Practice

I place great value on my practice being informed by ongoing study. Some of my preferred continuing professional development activities includes the completion of theoretical studies in Contemporary Psychoanalysis (24 courses of 4 year duration) at the Tampa Bay Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies (T-BIPS, Florida, USA), which have greatly enriched my relational approach. My current studies involve a psychotherapy program, the "Online Topic - Oriented Psychotherapy Program (TOPP)", an advanced clinical/theoritical training in relational/interpersonal approaches) at the William Alanson White Institute (WAWI) in New York. To further support my professional development and to enhance ethical and clinical sensitivity that helps integrate theory, research and practice coherently, I also systematically engage in academic and experiential training workshops, seminars, and conferences in Relational Psychoanalysis and Counselling Psychology.

My approach

My work is integrative and flexible, shaped by the collaborative values of Counselling Psychology and a respect for the complexity of each person's experience, with a primary grounding in Relational Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy informed by extensive theoretical studies and advanced reflective clinical training. It is also supported by my ongoing supervision with Relational Psychoanalysts. I also draw on and integrate approaches such as CBT and third wave therapies (e.g. ACT, CFT) to meet clients’ unique needs. My focus is on offering a space where we explore how your emotional life has been shaped by past relationships, internal conflicts, and patterns that may repeat in the present and feel difficult to shift. We pay close attention to how these patterns might also appear in the therapy room, offering a unique opportunity for growth and change through the therapeutic relationship itself. Please note: I use the terms "therapy", "psychotherapy" and "psychological therapy" interchangeably to refer to the same service.

My role

I believe healing happens in the presence of authenticity, attunement, and deep listening. Therapy is not about quick solutions but about creating a safe space where one can discover and understand parts of oneself that may have been neglected and ultimately allow these parts to communicate harmoniously, promoting greater integration and quality of life. This integration can emerge through connection, empathy, understanding, and time. My role is to accompany you in this process with thoughtfulness, care, patience, and a commitment to emotional depth and relational integrity. All work is conducted in accordance with professional confidentiality standards and guided by the Codes of Conduct of the Association of Greek Psychologists(ΣΕΨ), EFPA, the BPS (UK), and the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics of the HCPC (UK). Client reviews and testimonials are not used publicly in order to protect client confidentiality and comply with professional ethical standards.
