ABOUT ME

My backround

I am a bilingual Licensed Psychologist - Psychotherapist in Greece and a Chartered Counselling Psychologist in the UK, currently based and working in Αthens, Greece. My cultural identity is shaped by Greek, French, and American influences. This multicultural background has given me a deep appreciation for the complexities of identity, language, and emotional life. I am fluent in both Greek and English, and I create a space where you can express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you.

Experience

I have over 20 years of clinical experience in Greece and the UK. As a Counselling Psychology graduate (MSc, PgDip) from the UK, I was trained to tailor my approach by drawing from different psychotherapeutic approaches and techniques. Overall, my training as Counselling Psychologist and further training/education included supervised placements in a variety of evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)as well as the Person Centred Approach. This broad training informs my integrative practice and supports tailored work characterized by respect for the client’s subjectivity and unique needs. I have worked across a variety of settings—NHS services, charities, academic institutions, and private clinics—offering psychotherapy to individuals and couples as well as supervision and teaching to trainee psychotherapists. My professional experience at the Institute for Relational and Group Psychotherapy (ΙΣΟΨ) in Athens—where for almost a decade I provided individual and couple therapy to people who sought it and for many years I was teaching and providing supervision to trainees of the "Postgraduate Diploma of Specialization on Clinical Skills based on Relational Psychotherapy/Relational Psychoanalysis"—has significantly contributed to my professional development.I currently continue to provide some individual and couple psychotherapy as an external associate at this Institute while also maintaining my private practice in Athens.

An Evolving Practice

I place great value on my practice being informed by ongoing study. Some of my preferred continuing professional development activities includes 24 courses (4 year duration) at the Tampa Bay Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies (T-BIPS, Florida, USA), which have greatly enriched my relational approach. Recently, I was accepted to complete a psychotherapy program with limited admission to advanced clinicians, the "Online Topic - Oriented Psychotherapy Program (TOPP)" with the current topic being "The Luminaries of the Interpersonal Approach", at the William Alanson White Institute (WAWI) in New York, a renowned center for Interpersonal and Relational Psychoanalysis. To further support my professional development and to enhance ethical and clinical sensitivity that helps integrate theory, research and practice coherently, I also systematically engage in academic and experiential training workshops, seminars, and conferences in Relational Psychoanalysis and Counselling Psychology.

My approach

My work is grounded in Counselling Psychology’s collaborative values and in honoring the complexity of human experience. My approach is integrative, with Relational Psychotherapy as my main therapeutic framework, while I also draw from CBT, third wave therapies (e.g. ACT, CFT) and other approaches to meet clients’ unique needs. My focus is on offering a space where we explore how your emotional life has been shaped by past relationships, internal conflicts, and patterns that may repeat in the present and feel difficult to shift. We pay close attention to how these patterns might also appear in the therapy room, offering a unique opportunity for growth and change through the therapeutic relationship itself. Please note: I use the terms "therapy", "psychotherapy" and "psychological therapy" interchangeably to refer to the same service.

My role

I believe healing happens in the presence of authenticity, attunement, and deep listening. Therapy is not about quick solutions but about creating a safe space where one can discover and understand parts of oneself that may have been neglected and ultimately allow these parts to communicate harmoniously, promoting greater integration and quality of life. This integration can emerge through connection, empathy, understanding, and time. My role is to accompany you in this process with thoughtfulness, care, patience, and a commitment to emotional depth and relational integrity. All work is conducted in accordance with professional confidentiality standards and guided by the Codes of Conduct of the Association of Greek Psychologists(ΣΕΨ), the British Psychological Society(BPS), and the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, UK).
